Customs Intelligence seizes non duty paid polish from Jhang Road

FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation team confiscated Porcelain polish worth Rs9,00,000 involving duty and taxes of Rs8,62,207 during road checking.

Sources told Customs Today, that Customs Intelligence team was on routine checking near Jhang road Faisalabad. The customs team intercepted a trailer no: TKW-199. The customs team checked the vehicle and recovered glazed porcelain polish tiles 684-Cartons, made in Iran.

Sources said that the customs staff asked the driver to show the legal documents regarding possession and transportation of the goods. The driver who was identified as Muhammad Haibat Khan produced a bilty 41/2107 dated 19-07-2017 showing clearance of porcelain tiles matt from Gwadar port and bilty No, 436 issued by M. Alyan Cargo Service.

After his failure, the customs team confiscated the smuggled items and registered a case of smuggling against the accused. The Customs Intelligence team forwarded the case to the customs Adjudication for further proceeding.
