Customs Intelligence seizes smuggled items worth Rs37m in October

FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has seized various contraband non duty paid items worth Rs 37 million involving duty taxes amounting to Rs 20,494,119 during the month of October 2017.

Sources told Customs Today that following the instructions of Deputy Director Muhammad Azam Khan teams of Customs Intelligence including the Field Investigation Unit (FIU) Khushab, took stern action against smugglers who were causing loss to the national kitty.

The Customs Intelligence has seized old used machinery, computer systems, red chilies seeds 10595 kilograms, Toyota Hiulx Surf, Isuzu Prime Mover truck, Iranian origin dates Zahdi, and others different items.

Customs Intelligence teams comprising Deputy Director Muhammad Azam Khan, Intelligence Officer Muhammad Saeed Khan, Mansoor Khan, Muhammad Saleem, Sepoy Masood Iqbal and Ghulam participated in the raids.

Raids were conducted by Customs Intelligence teams at different areas including Sheikhupura Road, motorways, Samundri Road, Jhang Road.
