Customs Intelligence seizes two containers of non-duty paid fabric, tyres in Pesawar

ISLAMABAD: Directorate General Customs Intelligence and Investigation Peshawar has seized non custom paid imported cloth, tyres and microwaves from two containers while acting on tip of Senior Superintendent Police Peshawar. Acting upon the information of SSP Peshawar a raiding team was formed which intercepted the trailers on Chimkny road and asked the drivers to stop but they increased the speed and avoided check points but the police followed and caught them after short chase.

The trailers were with Peshawar-Z 4380 and Haripur-C 1363 registeration numbers, 796 new imported tyres, 1855 polyester cloth roles and 28 kenwood microwaves of 32 to 34 liters. The drivers Zarbat Shah and Muhammad Amir failed to provide any documents regarding authenticity of these items. Customs Officers arrested both the drivers and registered FIR.

During investigation driver Zarbat Shah revealed that Gul Zaman is owner of these items but upon probing it was known that he is locked in Peshawar Central Jail. His real name is Sohail Ilyas but he is commonly known as Gul Zaman. Sohai Ilyas / Gul Zaman denied the fact that these items belong to him. Customs Intelligence has sent the case for further probing to Collector Adjudication Seema Raza Bukhari who issued show-cause notice to all related people and ordered them to appear on Feb, 4.
