Customs Intelligence takes Hino truck valued at Rs8m into possession on tip-off

FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad impounded a non-duty-paid Hino truck, Model 2000, bearing registration No: KWS-15-417 worth Rs8million involving duty and taxes of Rs2.9million.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Director Rana Irfan Shoqat received secret information about a NDP vehicle. He formed a special team, comprising Muhammad Tahir Iqbal (Superintendent), Mansoor Nasir, Saad Iqbal, Intelligence Officers (IO) and Muhammad Ashraf, Asad Iqbal, Khalil Ahmed, Sepoys and others, which participated in the raid.

The customs team intercepted a truck and asked the driver identified as M Saqlain son of Mukhtiyar Ahmed to produce the legal documents regarding the possession of the truck, but he failed to do so. The team took into possession the truck and registered a case against the driver. A contravention report was forwarded to the Customs Adjudication for further legal action.
