LAHORE: The Directorate of Customs Investigation and Prosecution (I&P) has submitted a final challan of suspects in gold smuggling case.
Earlier, the Customs Court of Taxation and Anti-Smuggling had sent two suspects to jail on 14 days on judicial remand.
The customs authorities deputed at Lahore airport recovered 2.5 kilograms of gold and eight gold watches of Rado brand worth Rs 15 million from two passengers Rana Muhammad Rafique Farooq and Sara Adnan who were travelling from Sharjah to Lahore.
Earlier, Customs Investigation and Prosecution team presented them before the court and got their physical remand for further interrogations. Now court adjourned the hearing of case. The new date of hearing will be announced soon.
