Customs Islamabad collects Rs240m extra revenue before end of second quarter

ISLAMABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate Islamabad received high revenue of Rs240million as With Holding Tax before ending of 2nd quarter against an allocated revenue collection target for October to December Financial Year 2017-18.

According to details explained by Saeed Khan Jadoon, Collector Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Islamabad, that the collectorate generated Rs948million of With Holding Tax (WHT) during two months and three weeks (1st October to 21st December) Fiscal Year (FY) 2017-18 against an earmarked revenue target of Rs707million as WHT. He said the collectorate showed 133.98% achievement during a proportional period against an assigned revenue target for 2nd quarter of FY17-18.
The Collector MCC Islamabad added that the Collectorate of Islamabad collected Rs309million of WHT during 21 days of December while it was earmarked Rs252million as WHT for the whole month of December FY17-18. He told Customs Today that the collectorate demonstrated 122.50% of growth during first 21 days of December FY17-18 against an allocated revenue collection target for the month of December.
Saeed Khan Jadoon further told the correspondent that, during the month of November FY17-18, the collectorate got Rs315million against earmarked revenue collection target of Rs233million. He informed CT that, during above said period, the collectorate earned extra revenue of Rs81.59million against an assigned revenue target of WHT for the month of November FY17-18. During said period, the collectorate posted 134.94 % of achievement against an allocated revenue collection target of WHT.
He further said the MCC Islamabad generated Rs323million as WHT during the month of October FY17-18 against an assigned revenue target of Rs221million. He notified that the collectorate received Rs101million extra revenue against earmarked revenue target for said period. The collectorate displayed 146.10% of achievement against an assigned revenue target under the same head during the month of October FY17-18.
