WELLINGTON: The Customs Service is issuing a stark warning to New Zealanders heading online in search for illicit drugs.
It said it’s dealing with a growing number of drug buyers using restricted-access “darknets” and the Silk Road blackmarket.
Cargo operations manger Bruce Berry said they may feel anonymous, but they’re still getting caught.
He said whether they strap them to their bodies or put them through the mail, it’s still drug importation.
Mr Berry believes drugs are coming from every country, including Europe, China, India and the US.
