Upon diverting the passenger from the Green Channel to the red channel, the Customs team noticed suspicious behavior. The Customs team deputed at the red channel promptly asked the passenger to undergo a detailed examination at the Customs counter.

However, the passenger tried to flee the International Arrivals Hall, abandoning his luggage.

A meticulous inspection of both the passenger’s body and the abandoned luggage revealed a cache of valuable items:

1. 29 iPhones (assorted models from iPhone 14 and 15)

2. 2 HP laptops

3. Ladies’ unstitched fabric

4. Chocolates

5. Assorted cosmetics

6.4 empty mobile phone boxes

Customs team registered a First Information Report (FIR) for further investigation.

It is pertinent to mention here that Customs teams adopted zero tolerance policy against smuggling.
