Customs JIAP foils bid to smuggle 1.17kgs of methamphetamine

KARACHI: Collectorate of Customs officials deputed at Jinnah International Airport (JIA) intercepted a passenger Abdul Qadir Mansori attempting to smuggle 1.17 kilograms of methamphetamine, commonly known as “Ice,” concealed in his luggage worth Rs20 million in international market.

The incident occurred during the wee hours of September 14, 2024.

Initial tests indicate the substance is methamphetamine, though further chemical analysis is underway to confirm its exact nature. Mansori has been detained for further interrogation to uncover any potential accomplices.

An FIR has been lodged, and legal proceedings are underway till filing of this report.
