Customs JIAP foils bid to smuggle heroin worth Rs9.4m

KARACHI: Collectorate of Customs Jinnah International Airport (JIAP) Karachi foiled an attempt to smuggle 940 grams of fine quality heroin. The market value of seized heroin power is Rs9.4 million in international market.

According to sources, during routine checking customs team deputed at international departure lounge intercepted a passenger who belonged to KPK for checking. His luggage was already cleared by Airport Security Force (ASF) scanning machine.

When customs team asked him about his luggage he was failed to satisfy customs team. Upon which his luggage was thoroughly examined during which customs team recovered 940 grams of fine quality heroin which was tactfully hidden in the secret parts of his suitcase.

Customs team seized the entire luggage of passenger and after registering a case of narcotics smuggling started further investigations. Sources said that accused will be produced before the customs court for further remand.
