Customs JIAP recovers iPhones from passenger worth millions of rupees

KARACHI: Collectorate of Customs team deputed at Jinnah International Airport (JIAP) foiled an attempt to smuggle iPhones 14 Pro equivalent to PKR 22,300,000/- whose duty & taxes are calculated to be PKR 6,614,412/-

Sources told Customs Today that during the evening shift of 12th February, 2023 at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi International Arrivals Lounge, Pakistan Customs intercepted a person namely M. Arshad Khan son of Abdul Rasheed Khan who travelled from Dubai/USA via flight No. EK-602 and effected a seizure of mobile phones which were tactfully concealed in his luggage. The details of seized mobile phones is as below:

Sources said that the passenger failed to provide any legal documents regarding possession and transportation of these mobile phones.

FIR in the case has been lodged and accused has been arrested accordingly. Investigation of the case is underway.
