Customs, Khasadar forces seizes 900,000 Saudi Riyal

PESHAWAR: In a joint operation Customs and Khasadar force have foiled a bid of smuggling of 900,000 Saudi Riyal from Pakistan to Afghanistan by recovering the currency from Afghan citizen at Torkham border on Friday.

Naib Tehsildar Passport Torkham,Shams-ul-Islam told Customs Today that on duty Khasadar stopped an Afghan national in routine checking. During the search of the luggage the official recovered 900,000 Saudi Riyals.

One currency smugglers identified as Naeem Shah s/o Shundi Gul, resident of Achin District of Ningrahar province of Afghanistan.

Case was registered against him and the currency along the detainee was sent to Landi Kotal lock for further investigation, Khasadar sources informed.

It is to be stated here that since long, gold and the currency smuggling of Pakistani rupees, Dollars, Saudi Riyals and other foreign currencies on rise via Torkham border and big fish in Peshawar are involved in the mal-practice and they execute their schemes through their touts.
