Customs LFU Wagah collects Rs74.3 million taxes in 15days

Pakistan collects Rs 74.3 million taxes on import of Indian Items trough Wagha route

Lahore: Pakistan Customs Land Freight Unit (LFU) Wagah has collected Rs74.3 million in wake of duty/taxes during April 16 to April 30 of current fiscal year 2014-15.

According to data available to Customs Today Pakistani imports from India cut down by Rs1.29 billion which affected the revenue collection of the LFU Wagah.

During last fifteen days of April, customs generated Rs74.3 million taxes, while it had generated Rs226.6 million taxes during the same period of March.

Officials said that during the running season import of fresh vegetables was decreased as the local production of fresh items increased in these days, they added.

LFU Wagah collected Rs43 million taxes collectively during last 15 days of April on import of soya bean and other relevant products. Sales tax of Rs15 million, income tax Rs136 million and duty of Rs14.4 million was collected on soya bean.

Besides, Rs4 million has been collected on the import of polyethylene and its products from India.

LFU Wagah totally gained Rs21 million in the wake of duty, Rs33 million as sales tax and Rs19 million as income tax, Rs1.3 million as additional sales tax on total imports .
