As per details, General Secretary Lower Employees Association Aftab Hussain Shah Hamdani confirmed that the Association has already forwarded a letter to Chief Collector for promotions of the Customs officials from Grade 1 to Grade 7 who further forwarded the letter to ADC-Headquarters-I for prompt actions.

It is pertinent to mention here that a Petition No.40/1999 has also been submitted with Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) in this regard and the apex court in its verdict directed the FBR authorities to upgrade the posts of jamadars, hawaldars and sepoys according to their services record.

However, the Pakistan Customs authorities have not yet implemented the SC orders in which it stated that the posts of cadre employees should be upgraded.

The General Secretary of Lower Employees Association demanded the authorities to issue notification for the up-gradation of the above-mentioned posts.
