SIALKOT: Customs Collectorate has made a plan to issue Rs 120 million rebate refunds to exporters before September 8, 2016.
Assistant Collector Fahad Bashir Chaudhary told Customs Today that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has allocated Rs 120 million to issue checks for rebate claims up to Rs 5 million. He said that the Customs Department has decided to issue the checks to exporters on priority basis before September 8, 2016 to ease their liquidity problems. He said that the present government has decided to clear all rebate and duty drawback claims. He further said that the exporters are very happy because Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has urged the department to distribute the refunds. Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has also announced to clear all refund claims of exporter as soon as possible.
He said that the FBR is trying to clear all refunds of exporters in time so that the exporters continue their process of export. He said that the exporters is economic backbone of Pakistan while they are strengthen the economy of Pakistan. He said that the export ratio increasing and export achievement is much better from Sialkot Dry Port Trust (SDPT) and Sialkot International Airport.
