Customs NIIA seizes 950 grams of gold bars from passenger leaving for Dubai

ISLAMABAD: Persuing the information of Collector Seema Raza Bokhari the NIIA Customs staff seized 950 grams of gold bars from a bag of passenger traveling to Dubai via Islamabad airport.

According to details told by the collector, credible information shared by her sources that an attempt will be made by smugglers to smuggle gold out of country.

A special team of Customs vigilance staff was deputed to monitor the activities of the group, meanwhile the customs staff intercepted a passenger named Ahmed Faraz travelling to Dubai via PK-233 and after thorough checking and search the Customs staff found huge quantity of gold bars tactfully concealed in the hand bag carrying by the accused.

She said that the accused was apprehended in departure lounge after immigration, the total quantity seized by Ahmad Faraz estimated at 950 grams of gold bars. She added that case has been registered against the smuggler while further investigation is under way.
