Customs North Region displays rare performance by generating Rs3445m revenue

ISLAMABAD: The Customs North Region received Rs3445million extra revenue under the head of all duties and taxes against an allocated proportional revenue target during five months and 12 days of December Financial Year 2017-18.

According to details given by Sarwat Tahira Habib, Chief Collector, Customs North Region, comprising Customs Collectorates of Islamabad, Peshawar, Samberial and Gilgit-Baltistan, that the North showed outstanding performance during above said period. She said that the Customs Station Islamabad earned Rs7455million of all taxes against an assigned revenue target of Rs5858million under the head of all taxes. She added that the Islamabad generated Rs5516million as all taxes during the same period of corresponding FY16-17.
She told CT that the Customs Collectorate of Peshawar got Rs10075million against an earmarked revenue target of Rs8902million under the head of all duties and taxes while the collectorate collected Rs7858million of all taxes during the same period of previous FY16-17.
The Chief Collector further told correspondent that the Customs Collectorate of Samberial was assigned a revenue target of Rs-886million under all heads while it was allocated Rs-1383 million rebate refunds target for five months and 12 days of December FY17-18. She further added that the Samberial received Rs-574million under all heads during the same period of FY16-17.
The Customs Collectorate of GB generated Rs2301million of revenue under all the heads against an allocated revenue collection target of Rs2124million for five months and 12 days of December FY17-18 while the Collectorate of GB received Rs2011million under the head of all taxes during the same period of FY16-17.
