Customs North Region earns over Rs300m of Customs Duty

ISLAMABAD: The Customs North Region generated over Rs300million of revenue as Customs Duty during first three weeks of December Financial Year 2017-18 against a revenue collection during the same period of previous first three weeks of December Fiscal Year 2016-17.

According to details given by sources of Customs North Region, comprising Collectorates of Islamabad, Peshawar, Samberial and Gilgit-Baltistan, the North Region jointly received Rs1043million of Customs Duty (CD) during first three weeks (1st of December to 21st of December) FY17-18 while it did Rs705million under the same head during the same period of corresponding FY16-17.
The sources told the correspondent that the Customs Collectorate of Islamabad earned Rs487million as CD during abovementioned period of FY17-18 whereas it did Rs363million under the same head in FY16-17 up to 21st of December.
The sources notified CT that, during first three weeks of December FY17-18, the Collectorate of Peshawar generated Rs640million as CD against an assigned revenue collection of Rs251million during the same period of FY16-17 under the same head.
The Collectorate of Samberial collected Rs-137 million of CD during 21 days of December FY17-18 while it did Rs-47million under the same head during the same period of previous FY16-17. The sources added that the Collectorate of Gilgit-Baltisatn (GB) got Rs89million under the head of CD during three weeks of December FY17-18 whereas it did Rs137million under the same head during corresponding 21 days of December FY16-17.
The sources further told CT that, during 21 days of December, the Collectorate of North Region’s station Islamabad received Rs18.86million revenue, Peshawar did Rs120.49million revenue, Samberial did Rs-40.14million revenue and the Collectorate of GB earned Rs3.31million as CD. The sources added that the total revenue earned by the North Region on 21st of December FY17-18 was amounting to Rs102.52million as CD.
