Customs North Region performs better by generating Rs164.45m of WHT during 28 days

ISLAMABAD: The Customs North Region received an extra revenue of Rs164.45million as With Holding Tax (WHT) against an earmarked proportional revenue target during 1st to 27th of November Financial Year 2017-18.

The Collectorate of Gilgit-Baltistan seems uppermost in revenue collection of WHT during 27 days of November FY17-18 among other customs stations working under the umbrella of North Region.
The Customs North Region collected Rs758.91million as WHT during first 27 days of November FY17-18 while it was allocated a revenue target of Rs594.46million. The sources of North Region told Customs Today that, during above said period, the North Region, comprising Collectorates of Islamabad, Peshawar, Samberial and Gilgit-Baltistan, earned Rs254.12million of WHT against the assigned target of Rs186.82million during initial 27 days of November FY17-18. Sources added that, during same period of corresponding November FY16-17, the Islamabad generated Rs189.45million as WHT.
The North’s Peshawar Customs Collectorate received surplus revenue of Rs425.12million against an allocated proportional revenue target of Rs343.95million of WHT during 27 days of November FY17-18. The Peshawar Collectorate got Rs318.60million as WHT during the same period of corresponding FY16-17.
The Customs Collectorate Samberial earned Rs8.42million against an earmarked proportional revenue target of Rs11.50million of WHT during 27 days of November FY17-18 whereas it received Rs9.68million under the same head during previous FY16-17.
The Customs Collectorate Gilgit-Baltistan collected the highest revenue with an extra amount of Rs19.09million against an assigned proportional revenue target of WHT during above said period among all the collectorates working under the Customs North Region.
The North Region’s Customs Station GB got Rs71.25million as WHT against an earmarked proportional revenue target of Rs52.18million of WHT during 27 days of November FY 17-18 while it did Rs50.52million under the same head during first 27 days of November FY 16-17.
