KUWAIT CITY: The customs officers and policemen who thwarted an attempt to smuggle a huge quantity of drugs have been rewarded.
Government sources told Arabic newspaper Alrai that the authorities had allocated KD250, 000 to reward them in recognition of their vigilance and dedicated efforts in protecting the country and combating drug trafficking.
The customs officers foiled an attempt to smuggle 10 million amphetamine pills valued at KD25 million, which was deemed the biggest ever anti-drug trafficking operation.
