KUWAIT CITY:  Less than a week after the discovery of a parcel containing a drug called “Happiness Drug” at Hiteen Post Office, an Arab expatriate, who came to the post office to receive the parcel, was arrested for attempting to attack a customs inspector with a sharp object.

According to security sources, Head of parcels division at Hiteen Post Office Sami Al-Zayer received a call from Head of Sadiq Post Office Abdullatif Al-Manei who said one of the employees in Sadiq Post Office suspected a parcel that arrived from a European country, and requested to send the parcel to Hiteen Post Office as the latter has a special equipment for detecting drugs and other illicit items.

After Hiteen Post Office received the parcel, they checked it using the special equipment and discovered it contained drugs. Soon after, an Arab expatriate came to the post office to receive the parcel. When confronted, he tried to attack an inspector using a sharp object. He was eventually controlled and referred to the concerned authorities along with the contents of the parcel.

Head of Sadiq Post Office expressed appreciation for the support of General Customs Administration for providing advanced equipment to various post offices for dealing with such situations. He also appreciated employees of Hiteen Post Office for their cooperation.
