PESHAWAR: The Customs authorities have recovered a huge quantity of mud bags from five containers at the Peshawar dry port, which were placed instead of goods to evade tax.
The sources told Customs Today that five containers, which reached at Peshawar dry port from Karachi, were full of mud bags while the goods imported from China by Punjab-based businessmen, were found missing from the containers.
Now the authorities at the Peshawar dry port and Customs House Peshawar are investigating the case from the customs agents and container driver. Sources added that the owners of the said containers are still missing and soon they will reach the final conclusion to nab the missing tax evaders.
Customs authorities said that an FIR has been registered against five suspected suppliers of the goods and some importers have been traced out.
