Customs Preventive seizes 800 grams of fine quality heroin from GPO

KARACHI: The Drug Enforcement Cell (DEC) of Customs Preventive has seized fine quality heroin packed in a parcel.

According to details, the Customs authorities of DEC on Friday checked the parcel which was bound for the United Kingdom and recovered around 800 grams of fine quality heroin worth millions of rupees.

The Deputy Collector of Customs Preventive at airport Ali Turrabi informed Customs Today that the DEC officials have seized a parcel at General Post Office located at main Shara-e-Faisal which was destined to United Kingdom containing fine quality of heroin.

Responding to a query, the Deputy Collector said that the parcel was booked for Peshawar-Khyber Pukhtunkhwa while further investigation into the case is underway.

Deputy Collector Turrabi further said that the heroin was concealed in the consignment of surgical items, adding that the DEC officials are still searching the concealed cavities of the parcel.
