Customs Preventive adopts zero-tolerance policy: Collector Faiz

LAHORE: Customs Preventive Lahore, on directive of, has intensified its anti-smuggling campaign and seized huge quantity of items smuggled from Peshawar and Quetta.

Collector Faiz Ahmad, who took the charge as Collector (OPS) at Model Customs Collectorate of Preventive, Lahore on August 9 after relinquishing the charge of the post of Chief (OPS), Federal Board of Revenue (HQ), Islamabad, has adopted the policy of zero tolerance against smuggling mafia. He also ordered his team not to give relief to any smuggling element as it has allegedly been done in past.

After the collector’s clear stance, the anti-smuggling officials of Customs Preventive have expedited their efforts against smuggling activities. The officials, ignoring influence, seized huge quantity of smuggled items coming from Peshawar and Quetta.

Last week in a meeting with his team, Collector Faiz barred the Anti-Smuggling Organisation’s officials from unofficially using Customs House’s budget and told them not to give concession to any negative element in the department, sources revealed.
