Customs Preventive, Appraisement collects Rs 14.45 billion duty

LAHORE: Customs Preventive and Appraisement have jointly collected Rs 14.45 billion in the wake of customs duty during eight months of the current financial year 2014-15.

Both collectorates had collected Rs 14.18 billion during the same period of last fiscal year 2013-14.

According to details, Customs Preventive collected a total customs duty of Rs 4.707 billion, which is Rs 813 million more than the set target of Rs 3.893 billion for eight months of the current fiscal year. In this way, the collectorate and exceeded its target and had a surplus of 21 percent.

Meanwhile, Customs Preventive collected Rs 3.584 billion, registering an increase of Rs 1.122 billion. The collectorate exceeded its target by 31 percent.

On the other hand, Appraisement Lahore collected Rs 9.745 billion during eight months of the fiscal year 2014-15 against the set target of Rs 12.046 billion, while it collected Rs 10.603 billion as customs duty during the same period.
