Customs Preventive ASO foils bid to smuggle contraband items worth millions of rupees

KARACHI: Customs Preventive Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has foils a bid to smuggle contraband items worth millions of rupees at Mochko.

Talking to Custom Today, Deputy Collector Ali Raza Turabi said that a raid was conducted at the Mochko. During the raid, a car bearing no BFW-340 was intercepted and the driver was investigated. The officers of the Customs Preventive recovered 42 bottles of Black Label wine from secret cavities of the car.

He informed that the driver of the car has been arrested and interrogation is underway after which an FIR will be lodged against the suspect.

Ali Raza Turabi also said that during the two days the ASO has carried three successful raids and recovered contraband items of worth millions of rupees.

On the directives of the higher authorities the network of the informers has been spread and the officers are also vigilant round the clock, Deputy Collector Preventive added.
