Customs Preventive collects Rs 701m as customs duty in April

LAHORE: The Customs Preventive collected Rs 701 million under the head of customs duty from different stations, including Air Freight Unit (AFU), Wagah Land Freight Unit (LFU), T-10, GPO and others.

As per details, the collectorate collected Rs 527.79 million from AFU witnessing an increase against Rs 492 million collected during same corresponding period of last year.

It generated Rs 25 million as customs duty on import/export through Wagah border between Pakistan-India. The Customs Preventive collected Rs 250,000 from GPO and generated Rs 10 million from other stations.

As per data, the collectorate did not release any amount in shape of rebate and refund to the traders, so the net collection of customs duty is stood at Rs 701 million during the said period.
