Customs Preventive Drug Enforcement Cell seizes 300 grams heroine, arrests two

LAHORE: Collctorate of Customs Preventive’s Anti-Drug Enforcement Cell has registered first ever FIR against the drug paddlers after arresting them.

As per details, the cell’s staff intercepted two drug paddlers and seized from them 300 grams of heroine from Pakki Havely Stop, Ferozepur Road. The value of seized heroine is Rs 150,000.

Drug paddlers Muhammad Rasheed son of Sher Muhammad and Muhammad Ashraf are residents of new Kahna.  The drug cell team under Inspector Zafar Iqbal arrested the accused persons and produced them before the court. Session Court Session judge has sent the accused party on 14 days judicial remand. The collectorate has set up the drug cell in order to overcome the rising drug business in the city.  The Customs Preventive Lahore established Drug Enforcement Cell to prevent smuggling of narcotics.

The cell will report to the superintendent Customs, Anti-Smuggling  Customs Preventive and the cell shall be stationed in the headquarters and will respond any specific information / intelligence pertaining to field stations of the collectorate Lahore Land Freight Unit (LFU) Wagha, Railways Station Wagha, Air Freight Unit (AFU), Airport Traffic, T-10 Railways Station Wagah and IMO (GPO).

The jurisdiction of the cell will be the same as that of the Customs Preventive, Lahore especially for drugs’ interdiction and detection.

The drug enforcement cell shall submit a fortnightly performance report to Assistant collector Dr Muhammad Adnan Khan.

Separately in another case of Anti-Smuggling organization Customs Collectorate(Preventive) Lahore in pursuant to an information under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Adnan Khan, Assistant Collector and Munawar Ahmad Khan, Superintendent seized 738-smuggled tyres carrying in 10-wheelers truck at Multan Road. The value of seized tyres is more than 2.5 million.  The sources said that customs authorities after registering case have started investigation into the case.
