Customs Preventive duty, taxes collection up 16pc

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Preventive has registered growth of 16 percent by collecting Rs2,353 million duty and taxes against a target of Rs2,026 million during the month of May 2016.

As per details, the collectorate collected Rs 731 million under the head of customs duty against the month’s target of Rs645 million while the collectorate collected Rs566 million withholding tax against the target of Rs 599 million.

Similarly, the collectorate collected Rs1,026 million sales tax against the target of Rs772 million while the collectorate collected Rs29 million federal excise duty (FED) against target of Rs 9 million.

On the whole the collectorate collected Rs2,353 million duty and taxes during the month of May 2016, official data said.
