Customs Preventive foils bid to smuggle HSD worth Rs5m

KARACHI: Collectorate of Customs Preventive’s Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized huge quantity of smuggled Iranian high speed diesel (HSD).

According to the details, on the tipoff, ASO higher authorities constituted a team to conduct a raid to bust a dumper containing huge quantity of smuggled Iranian HSD.

During the search of the several vehicles, a dumper was intercepted by the ASO team at the Moachko Chowk. The ASO team inquired the driver about the legal documents which he failed to provide.

Deputy Collector ASO Headquarters Muhammad Faisal who was accompanied by the team ordered the search of the dumper and found huge quantity of smuggled Iranian HSD.

The ASO team has taken the custody of the said dumper bearing registration no TAE- 404. As per initial inquiry, the dumper was loaded with seventeen thousand and five hundred smuggled Iranian high speed diesel worth Rs 1,575,000, and dumper which is worth Rs5,000,000 has also been taken into custody. Further investigations are still underway till the filing of this report.
