LAHORE: The impact of currency crisis in India have also made ways in Pakistan as the people involved in the business of illegal currency have started struggling to exchange their Indian black money with them and the Customs Preventive authorities deputed at Allama Iqbal International Airport has seized Rs 1.3 million Indian currency notes which an accused was carrying with him to exchange them via Dubai.
The sources said that in the backdrops of the currency crisis, Pakistan Customs has also evolved a comprehensive strategy to nab the elements involved in the illegal currency business.
The sources said that on suspicion the Customs Preventive team deputed at Allama Iqbal International Airport intercepted a passenger who wanted to leave for Dubai and from him recovered Rs 13, 49,500 which when converted into Pakistan currency made Rs 20,24,250.
The customs authorities impounding the currency arrested the accused Ejaz Hussein son of Anwar Hussein of Multan Road Lahore.
The sources said that the customs authorities after registering case against the accused have started further investigations.
