Customs Preventive foils bid to smuggle UAE dirhams, Omani riyals

LAHORE: Customs Preventive on Wednesday foiled a bid to smuggle foreign currency worth Rs 81 million from Allama Iqbal International Airport.

Sources said that the customs authorities intercepted an Omani citizen Nasir Saeed Al Khroosi and found 50,000 UAE dirham and 25,000 Omani riyals during the thorough search of the accused person’s luggage . The accused which was arrested by the customs authorities was traveling from Lahore to Muscat on flight no.344. The Customs authorities have started investigations from the suspect.
