Customs Preventive impounds non-customs paid Toyota Land Cruiser

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Preventive car cell has seized a non-customs paid Toyota Land Cruiser bearing registration no EH 466 model 2004 which was parked in F-11 Markaz . The market value of impounded vehicle is Rs 6 million.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Dr Arsalan received information that some non-duty paid vehicles are plying on roads. He directed Deputy Collector Shahid Jan to enhance checking on the roads.

The squad arrived at the place in morning and started waiting for the owner of the car. They waited from morning till evening but the owner did not approach there to claim ownership of the vehicle.

The customs team after getting permission from headquarters took the vehicle under their custody and shifted it to state warehouse.

The Customs authorities during checking of vehicle data it was revealed that the vehicle was not been registered with any government department including excise and taxation.

The collector said that collectorate will allow the owner of vehicle to produce legal documents regading possession of vehicle if he failed to provide any relevant documents then his vehicle will be impounded.

The customs team who impounded the vehicle was led by Superintendent Zargam Dil and other staff which includes Adnan Dar, Shakeel Rana , Matloob Husain Shah , Yousaf Mughal,and Muhammad Asif.
