PESHAWAR: Collectorate of Customs Preventive impounded a trailer loaded with non-duty paid smart phones, auto spare parts and foreign origin clothes in Khyber district.
Collector Customs Asif Saeed Khan lauded assistant collector Sajid Khan for supervision intelligence base operation (IBO) on tip off. The Collector directed the customs preventive team to eliminate every risk of smuggling non duty paid goods.
According to details, assistant collector got information from collector customs to thwart possible attempt of smuggling smart phones from Khyber district to Kohat . The Customs Preventive team posted at Khyber District intercepted a trailer which was unloading out strike Khyber District. The Customs Preventive team took custody of the goods and arrested the accused owner. The trailer LB-5467 was seized and goods shifted to Customs House.
Assistant Collector Sajid Khan told Customs Today that Capital City Police timely approached and goods were seized without mega clash as many people were gathered to upload these goods in local passenger vehicles for further distribution in other parts of the country.
The goods include hundreds of smart phones , more than five hundreds thans of foreign origin clothe and auto spare parts approximately 456 boxes.
Collector Customs Preventive collector further directed to keep examine big and small data to trace origin of goods and digital techs can also be utilized to verify substance of goods. The Collector stressed to curb smuggling in order to facilitate genuine traders and play part to stop leakage to national economy. The estimated worth of the seizure is more than Rs8 million.
