LAHORE: The Collectorate of Customs Preventive has collected Rs 8,593 million revenue, including all duty, taxes and excluding Rs 151 million rebate, during the first four months of the current financial year 2016-17.
Sources told Customs Today that the Collectorate collected Rs 2,496 million under the head of customs duty and Rs 64 million additional revenue by registering 3 percent growth as compared to the same period of the last financial year 2015-16. The Collectorate collected Rs 3,559 on account of sales taxes during the period under review against Rs 4,039 million during the same period of the last financial year.
The Collectoarte collected Rs 221 million under the head of sales tax (valuation addition tax) during the period under review against the collection of Rs 201 million collected during the same period last financial year.
The Collectorate also collected excise and taxation duty (FED) of Rs 101 million during the first four months of the period under review while Rs 42 million were collected on account of FED during the same period last financial year 2015-16.
On the other hand the Collectorate collected Rs 2365 million on account of income tax during the four month during the period under review.
The collectorate collected Rs 8593 million including all the taxes during the period under review against the collection of Rs 9229 million during the four month of last financial year.
However, the Collectorate extended Rs 151 million refunds and rebate during the first four months while Rs 93 million were distributed among the importers and exporters on account of rebate and refund during the same period last financial year 2016-17.
