Customs Preventive recovers 7.75kg heroin from UK-bound passenger

KARACHI: Customs Preventive has seized 7.75kg light brown heroin powder worth Rs77.5 million and arrested several accused including low rank officials. of Customs

The arrested persons include Amjad Mehmood Dock Handler, Sepoy Abdul Majid and a Customs janitor Prem, main accused Javed Ali and Hammad Travel Agent.

A passenger, Jawed Ali S/o Qurban Ali, holding UK passport was stopped on suspicious activity at Jinnah International Airport Karachi who was leaving for Heathrow, UK via Musqat.

On frisking his baggage, two polythene bags were found cleverly wrapped with masking tape glued to trip lid and bottom of a suitcase. The two polythene packets filled with light brown heroin powder were also recovered. An FIR has also been lodged in this regard.
