Customs Preventive registers 10 FIRs involving Rs 115.5m in nine months

LAHORE: The Customs Preventive Investigation and Prosecution Department has lodged 10 FIRs involving Rs 115 million in nine month from July to March 2015-16.

According to details, cases were registered against suspects for attempting to smuggle mobile phones, foreign currency, gold jewellery, gold bars, used tyres, cigarettes, parachute, fabric polyester, fabric, used digital industrial sewing machines, new tyres, tuples and flaps.

The accused persons were identified as Sarfraz Ahmad, Shahbaz Ahmad, Rai Umer, Rizwan, Data Tyre House, Saif Ullah Naseer Ahmad, Noor Ali Asad Ullah, and Faisal.

The official sources told Customs Today that seven cases out of ten are under investigation while three are under trial.
