Customs Preventive seizes huge quantity of smuggled goods in different raids

KARACHI: Collectorate of Customs Preventive, Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized large quantity of smuggled goods in various operations.

Sources told that Collector Preventive Saquif Saeed held a meeting of anti-smuggling squads which was also attended by Additional Collector Haroon Malik and Assistant Collector Shafiulah.

The ASO seized 200 smuggled tyres worth Rs2 million and 250 kg Khatta worth Rs0.25 million from near Mauripur truck adda in its crackdown against smuggled and contraband goods.

Moreover, on a tip off ASO conducted a raid on a warehouse-cum-factory in S.I.T.E, Karachi and seized a huge quantity of contrabands goods including betel nut, sodium cyclamate, supari/gutka worth Rs40.5 million.

Further, ASO seized a mazda truck loaded with 6,000 Kgs of foreign origin betel nuts on super high way near Suhrab Goth in its crackdown against contraband goods. A tanker stuffed with betel nut was also seized at Moachko choke point  and 5,000 kg of betel nut was recovered.
