Sources said that another passenger of the same flight who was identified as Azeem Abbas was also intercepted by customs team.

Abbas was using Green Channel facility when Inspector Jamshed Ahmed Khan asked him to show his suitcase. During the checking, the customs team recovered 110 mobile phones which were tactfully hidden in the suitcase. The team asked both passengers to show legal documents regarding possession of the mobile phones but both passengers failed to show any relevant legal documents.

After their failure, the Customs Preventive team seized the mobile phones, laptop and other goods and registered cases of smuggling against them.

It is also necessary to mention here that Collector Preventive Faiz Ahmad directed customs teams deputed at Lahore airport to use all available resources to curb smuggling through airport.
