Customs Preventive sets up Drug Enforcement Cell

LAHORE: The Customs Preventive Lahore has established Drug Enforcement Cell to prevent smuggling of narcotics, sources told Customs Today.

It was said that the cell will report to superintendent Customs Preventive anti-smuggling and the cell would be stationed in headquarters and respond to any specific informatio / intelligence pertaining to field stations of the collectorate Lahore Land Freight Unit (LFU) Wagah,  Air Freight Unit (AFU), Airport Traffic, T-10 Railways Station Wagah and IMO (GPO).

The jurisdiction of the cell will be the same as that of the Customs Preventive, Lahore especially for drugs’ interdiction and detection, the source said adding that the cell shall submit a fortnightly performance report to Assistant Collector Dr Muhammad Adnan Khan.
