Customs Preventive starts grand operation against smuggling

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Preventive started grand operation against smuggling in the city and established different check posts to foil any bid of smuggling.

Sources told Customs Today that on 14.5.2019, Collector Customs Preventive Ahmad Rauf received credible information about smuggling of mobile phones. He constituted an anti-smuggling squad under the supervision of Deputy Collector Naveedur Rehman which also included Superintendent Nasir Tarar and customs inspectors.

The customs team intercepted a Suzuki Pick-Up at Mall Road and during checking recovered Chinese brand Viva mobile phones 1450 sets, Nokia Vietnam origin 290 sets, QMobile 190 sets. The market value of  total 1920 sets is Rs5 million.

Sources told that customs team after registering a case of smuggling started further investigations. Collector Preventive Ahmed Rauf directed all anti-smuggling squads to adopt comprehensive strategy to curb smuggling attempts in the region.
