Customs Preventive surpasses duty collection target by Rs 1 billion

LAHORE: The Model Customs Collectorate Lahore Preventive has exceeded its target by Rs 1.07 billion in wake of customs duty collection at the end of the financial year 2014-15.

Officials told Customs Today that Customs Preventive has also surpassed its total revenue target for outgoing fiscal year by Rs 4.66 billion as it has collected Rs 29.73 billion against the Rs 25.07 billion target.

During the month of June, extra efforts were made for revenue collection, and more than Rs 110.5 million was realised from confiscated gold, approximately Rs 70 million from foreign currency, and more than Rs 100 from audit related recovery, the officials further added.

It is pertinent to mention here that the MCC Lahore Preventives is headed by Collector Mukarram Jah Ansari.

Ansari while talking to Customs Today that we just followed the system of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and above all the officers and other staff associated with collectorate also put their maximum efforts enabling the collectorate not only to achieve its target but exceed it.
