Customs Preventive to disclose busted mis-declaration act at ICG

KARACHI: Customs Preventive team on Friday foiled bid of mis-declaration at Immediate Clearance Group (ICG) of Pakistan Customs.

According to the details, The ICG located at Air Freight Unit, Jinnah International Airport (JIAP), Karachi is now on the mark by the culprits to clear their banned/prohibited goods through the facility being provided to the valuable departments.

The source has informed Customs Today that the Customs Preventive officer deputed at the ICG has foiled a bid to clear imported goods worth millions of rupees through mis-declaration.

The higher authority of the Pakistan Customs has appreciated the efforts of the staff deputed at the ICG and in this regards a press conference has also been announced by the Customs officer who look after the affairs of the print/electronic media.

Customs Preventive Collector Dr Iftekhar Ahmed will not only chair a press conference to brief the media over the success to avert the crime of mis-declaration as well as will also inform the media persons regarding the overall performance of the Pakistan Customs Preventive.

The press conference will be held at Air Freight Unit (AFU), an Old Terminal at the JIAP.

It is pertinent to mention here that the main aims of formation of Immediate Clearance Group (ICG) of Pakistan Customs facility is to increase the efficiency of workforce and reduce the time required for clearance of such good that need clearance within hours for instance perishable goods, diplomatic cargo of embassies and consulates and valuable courier consignments. The department works round the clock without availing and vocation during the 365 day of the year.
