Customs Preventive working on settling audit paras sent by PAC

KARACHI: Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Preventive is working on settling the audit paras sent by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) for the previous years.

Sources informed Customs Today that a recent meeting headed by the MCC Preventive Collector Syed Muhammad Tariq Huda was held in which the process of settling the audit paras was being reviewed.

During the meeting, the MCC Preventive Collector S M Tariq Huda asked the authorities concerned to ensure timely completion of the audit process before the end of the Fiscal Year 2014-15.

It is pertinent to mention here that the authorities concerned of the Collectorate have settled the audit paras for the year 2012-13 and 2013-14.

It may be mentioned here that the PAC has also sent audit paras for settlement to the Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement-West. However; none of the significant audit paras being sent to the MCC Appraisement-East and MCC-Port Muhammad Bin Qasim, as those Collectorate were not established in early 90s.

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has sent audit paras for settlement since the year 1990 and MCC Appraisement-West and MCC Preventive have responsibilities to reply those audit paras as those Collectorates were established in that time period in Pakistan Customs.
