Customs Rawalpindi seizes goods worth Rs 1.11 million

ISLAMABAD: Directorate General Customs Intelligence and Investigation Rawalpindi has seized smuggled goods worth Rs 1.11 million having duty and taxes of Rs 0.9 million.

According to details, all these items were seized during anti-smuggling drive, including 1480 kilograms of welding rods, 122 kilograms of gents cloth, 38 kilograms of ladies cloth, 30 cartons of Head& Shoulder shampoo, 8 dozen of small bowl and 160 kilograms of small plates worth Rs 6,10,000. All are foreign origin items having duty and taxes of Rs 495,000 recovered from a bus bearing registration no, BYU- 018 in Rawalpindi. In another operation, the officials recovered 816 kilograms of black tea, 30 kilograms of ladies cloth, 140 kilograms of children sweater, 25 brand new tubeless tyres and 5 LED TV 32” worth Rs 501,500. All are foreign origin items having duty and taxes of Rs 410,900. The items were recovered from bus no, P-1142 in Rawalpindi.
