Customs receives Rs236.97m gross CD during 20 days

ISLAMABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Peshawar generated Rs236.97million gross Customs Duty during 20 days (1st to 20th) in the month of March of Financial Year 2016-17.

According to Fazle Samad, Additional Deputy Collector MCC Peshawar, the collectorate is facing shortfall of different revenues and taxes due to stoppage of business activity at Torkham International Pak-Afghan Border.

He said the collectorate collected Rs236.97million CD whereas it did Rs231.55million net CD during above said period of current month. The collectorate earned Rs536.70million gross CD collection during corresponding year 2015-16 while Additional Deputy Collector said that during corresponding year 2015-16 the collectorate received Rs532.67million net CD collection.

The Peshawar collectorate is optimistic about meeting the third quarter target of all duty taxes and surcharges. The collectorate got Rs513.17million Customs Duty during the month of February FY16-17.

The Fazle Samad stated that Customs Station Torkham collected Rs145.92million CD during January FY16-17. The bonded warehouse Peshawar collected Rs94.82million CD and the Peshawar Airport generated Rs4.18million CD. During the month of January, Customs Station Gadoon earned Rs0.01million whereas Customs Station Hazara collected Rs22.47million CD.

Qurban Ali Khan added that State Ware House Kohat received Rs7.15million and the Treasury Branch Peshawar got Rs21.92million under the same head. The Auction Cell Peshawar received Rs14.34million whereas the State Ware House Peshawar did Rs7.94million CD during January FY2016-17.
