Customs recover 200 imported tyres

KARACHI: Modal Customs Colletorate of Gwadar has seized the hug e consignment of tyres and arrested four persons during a successful raid.

Gwadar Collector Saeed Akram received information a huge consignment of smuggled tyres were supplied in a truck from out city. Consequently, he formed a team under the supervision of Deputy Collector. The team raided at a private warehouse which was located in the area of Gwadar, town Jwar Khan. As per raided some persons tried to run away from the crime scene but customs officials foiled their attempts and arrested them. While the searching of the warehouse recovered more than 200 tyres of jeep and cars. Customs officials said that all tyres were imported companies. The team seized the tyres and arrested four persons named Shah Wali, Muhammad Khan, Abdul Raheem, and Ghafoor Shah.

During investigation of said accused it revealed these tyres brought in said warehouse during last month. The accused have a plan to supply these tyres from Gwadar to different cities. The Customs officials impound the truck which was loading with tyres and field case against smugglers. The team said that approximately vale of seized tyres is more than 2 million.
