Customs Preventive foils money laundering at JIAP

KARACHI: The Pakistan Customs Preventive has foiled a bid to smuggle huge quantity of foreign currency worth millions of rupees during a raid at Jinnah International Airport (JIAP) Karachi.

According to the details, on the tip of higher authority the staff beefed up the security and surveillance at the departure of Jinnah International Airport (JIAP) Karachi to nab the culprit involve in the smuggling.

During the tight surveillance the Customs Staff on suspicion intercepted a man and women at the departure and asked them to preset their travel documents. After collecting the documents the staff thoroughly checked the luggage of the passengers.

During the search of the luggage the Customs staff recovered three lac and fifty seven thousand Dirham as well as seventy thousand Saudi Riyal hidden in the lunch box between the bread, wrapped in the cloths and from the shoes of the passengers. The recovered foreign currency worth 1,2000000 in Pakistani rupees.

The culprits Haji Sattar and his wife were traveling to Dubai through Emirates Airline flight No EK-605. The officers of the Pakistan Customs Preventive has lodged the case against the both the culprits.

The arrested culprits were also presented before the honorable court and remanded was given against the culprits. The officers of the Pakistan Customs Preventive have also started the further investigation to arrest the master mind involved in the money laundering.
