Customs revises valuation of menthol crystals

KARACHI: Federal Board of Revenue’s Directorate of Customs Valuations has revised the values of menthol crystals.

Customs Valuation Director General Syed Tanveer Ahmed revised Valuation Ruling No.650/2014 for menthol crystals in an order in revision issued in line with the directives of Sindh High Court.

Osama bin Siddique of the imported submitted they imported menthol crystal smoking grade at $5/kg from Singapore whereas in Valuation Ruling No.650/2014 the customs value of menthol crystal (pharmaceutical grade) was determined at $18/kg for Chinese origin, $18/kg for Indian origin and $30/kg for all other origins, which is not applicable on their imports.
