The team led by Superintendent Ch Sardar Muhammad searched the trailer thoroughly which led to the recovery of porcelain wares numbered 24 pieces of tea sets and 1,206 CTNs weighed 14,135-kg.

The Anti-Smuggling Squad asked driver Riaz Hussain son of Sarfraz to provide documents regarding the legal import and lawful possession of the items and a trailer. The driver could not prove anything legal on which items and the trailer were impounded under the Customs Act-1969.

Assistant Collector said an anti-smuggling activity is still going on and it will be expedited in the region in order to weed out the menace of smuggling. The inflow of smuggling items not only damages the national economy but also causes the traders colossal losses.
